Starting Your Journey
Start Strong in Your New Community
Your first visit to CCI Ottawa is designed to be warm, simple, and supportive. Our team is here to help you understand your options, get connected to the right services, and start your settlement journey with confidence.
Getting Started
You can start your registration by visiting or contacting our main office. Our team will guide you through the next steps and help you get connected to the right services.
Steps in the Registration Process
Please note that we only provide services to Ottawa residents.
Registration
A receptionist will welcome you, ask about your main needs, and help you get started. This first conversation ensures you’re directed to the right services from the beginning.
Booking Your Appointment
You’ll be scheduled for an appointment with a counsellor who can best support your situation. If you prefer French-language services, you’ll be referred to our French-language partners.
Providing Your Documents
Bring your immigration document (such as your PR card, work permit, study permit, or refugee claimant document). These documents help confirm your eligibility and connect you to the services that match your needs.
Needs Assessment & Settlement Plan
After the registration process, during your appointment, a counsellor will complete a more in-depth needs assessment to understand your goals, challenges, and priorities. Together, you’ll create a personalized settlement plan that outlines the next steps, referrals, and supports to help you settle confidently in Ottawa.
