Our Teams

CCI Ottawa has five designated teams, each helping newcomers in different ways. Our teams work together and will connect you to the services that fit your needs and situation, making sure you get the right support as you settle in Ottawa.

Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP)

Our RAP team will meet you at the airport and bring you to a temporary place to stay. We check what you need right away and offer sessions to introduce you to local services like healthcare, schools, and community supports.

RAP usually supports you for up to three weeks. After that, if you need more help, you may be connected to the CSS team for continued, longer-term support as you settle in Canada.

Referrals are received through IRCC only.

Client Support Services (CSS)

The Client Support Services (CSS) team is here to help Government-Assisted Refugees (GARs) settle in Ottawa and become independent in their new lives. Our main goal is to empower GARs, especially those with complex needs like health or mental health challenges, limited literacy, or high support requirements by providing caring, client-centred support during their first year in Canada.

Only Government-Assisted Refugees are eligible.

Integration Support Services (ISS)

CCI Ottawa welcomes newcomers of all statuses and supports their successful integration into Canadian life. We foster independence by helping with housing, employment, education, and healthcare, and we start by assessing each person’s needs and creating a personalized settlement plan. Our team tracks progress, provides information sessions, and refers clients to community resources as needed.  Our goal is to see newcomers thrive and feel at home in their new community.

Clients may initiate a referral independently.

Community and Employment Connections

The Community and Employment Connections team helps newcomers build connections and feel a sense of belonging in Ottawa. We offer workshops, social events, and networking opportunities so you can experience local culture, practise language skills, and meet people from diverse backgrounds. Our team also guides you in getting involved with your neighbourhood, volunteering, and joining community activities to support your integration and help you feel at home.

Clients are referred by the ISS team or may self-refer once they become clients.

Transitional Housing

Our Transitional Housing Program offers newcomers a safe, stable place to stay across three locations while you work toward permanent housing. We provide clean shelter, nutritious meals, and wrap-around supports to help you settle with confidence. Our team assists with essential services, community connections, and the full housing search—from understanding your needs to preparing applications and speaking with landlords. You can remain in transitional housing until permanent housing is secured, giving you the stability and support needed to begin your new life in Canada.

Clients are referred exclusively by the City of Ottawa.
